Studio Help
Adding packages and what is pre-installed
Studio apps include a set of packages out of the box. You can add more by asking in plain language.
What is pre-installed
Every Studio app includes:
- React and TanStack Router for building the UI and handling navigation.
- TanStack Query for data fetching.
- Tailwind CSS for styling.
- The Mudbase SDK for connecting to auth, database, and storage.
- Common utilities like
date-fns,zod, andlucide-reactfor icons.
You do not need to install or configure any of these. They are ready to use from the first build.
Adding a new package
Describe what you need in the chat panel and Studio will add the right package. You do not need to know the exact package name.
Examples:
- “Add a charting library and show sales over time as a line chart.”
- “I need a rich text editor for the notes field.”
- “Add support for drag-and-drop sorting of the task list.”
Studio picks a compatible package, installs it, and wires it into your app in the same build turn.
Adding a package yourself via the terminal
If you want to install a package directly, open the terminal panel and run the install command for the package you want. Then send a prompt telling Studio you added a package and asking it to use it. This is an advanced option and usually not needed.
When a package causes problems
If adding a package breaks the preview or causes errors in the log, send a prompt: “Undo the last change and go back to how it was.” Studio will revert the addition. You can then try a different package or ask for an alternative approach.
Package compatibility note
Studio uses a fixed set of package versions at the time your project was created. Very new packages or packages that depend on native system code may not work in the sandbox. If a package fails to install, contact support and describe what you were trying to do.
