Using templates

Templates give you a working starting point so you spend less time on setup and more time on your actual idea.

What templates are

A template is a pre-built app structure designed for a common use case. Examples include a task manager, a landing page, a dashboard with user accounts, and a content site. Each template includes the front-end layout, routing, and basic backend integration already wired up.

How to use a template

  1. From your Studio dashboard, click New project.
  2. Choose Start from a template when prompted.
  3. Browse the templates gallery. Each card shows a preview image and a short description.
  4. Click the template you want. The build starts immediately.
  5. Once the build finishes, describe what you want to change in the chat panel and Studio will adjust the template to fit your idea.

Tips for getting the most out of templates

  • Pick the template closest to your goal, even if it is not an exact match. It is faster to adjust an existing structure than to describe everything from scratch.
  • If you want to keep the template's layout but change the content or style, say so in your first follow-up. For example: “Keep this structure but change the colors to dark blue and update the copy for a fitness app.”
  • Templates include a working backend connection. You do not need to set up auth, database tables, or storage separately.

Starting from a blank prompt instead

If none of the templates fit your idea, choose Start from a prompt and describe your app from scratch. Studio builds the structure based on your description alone.
